About Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a holistic healthcare that works with your body in order to re-establish balance. Classical osteopathy places emphasis on the principle that the body is a fully integrated unit of function that is self-healing and self-regulating. An osteopathic manual therapist works through their knowledge of anatomy and physiology and their understanding of how they influence each other.

For example, poor posture where an individual is slouching may lead to an increase pressure in the abdomen through the direct mechanical force applied by the ribs. Some symptoms that individual may experience from this may be poor digestion. Since osteopathic manual therapist study all of the anatomy in the body including muscles, nerves, arteries, and organs, they are able to make connections and find the true source of the problem better.

Osteopathic manual therapy may be used for a variety of reasons. It can help alleviate motion restrictions, aches and pains, digestive issues, relieve head aches, recovery from an injury or accident and much more.
